Gabion Bridge - Pedestrian Bridge

Location: Sherman Falls, Dundas Valley Conservation Area, Hamilton, ON, CA.

The Gabion Bridge project replaces the existing pedestrian bridge at Sherman Falls. This project discovers the bridge's relationships to materiality, pedestrian movement, landscape, and usage. This design goes beyond the typical function of a bridge as means of connection between two points by allowing pedestrians to enjoy multiple views of nature from different height points and angles from all four directions. Thus, creating moments of pause, reflection, and interaction with the surrounding nature.
